Thanks to Sony’s virtual surround technology, the soundbar can position sound in vertical space – so you can experience three-dimensional audio without the need for in-ceiling or up-firing speakers. As well as Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X®, Vertical Surround Engine lends a more realistic, multi-dimensional sound to other formats too.

Using front speakers only, Sony’s unique digital sound field processing technology virtually reproduces the surround sound field, with audio coming at you from both sides. You can enjoy rich, cinematic surround sound without cluttering your living space.

New Upmixer Brings Surround to Stereo Content

With Sony's newly developed upmixer, you can experience three-dimensional surround sound not only with surround sound format content, but also with stereo content, like streaming video or music services. Analysing the track in real time, Sony new algorithm extracts individual sound objects depending on their localisation and reallocates them, giving you three-dimensional surround sound.

A combination of Sony latest acoustic and signal processing technologies is the foundation for recreating a vast sound stage. The centre speaker ensures clear dialogue, while the built-in dual subwoofer delivers you deep bass.

X-Balanced Speaker Unit

The built-in dual subwoofer and front speakers feature an X-Balanced Speaker Unit. The unique rectangular shape of these speakers maximises the diaphragm area for more punchy bass. It also reduces driver excursion while maintaining sound pressure, resulting in less distortion and greater vocal clarity.

Built-in Subwoofer and Duct for Deep Bass

The built-in subwoofers use an X-Balanced Speaker design to maximise the diaphragm size for the limited space, delivering powerful bass from a compact soundbar. The unique duct shape is the secret to delivering the deep bass normally associated with larger speakers — especially when listening at low volume.

Clear Voice and Precise Sound Image

Using a single speaker unit to reproduce a wide frequency range from bass to treble simultaneously can cause distortion and result in a muffled and unclear sound image. Sony unique signal processing technology suppresses this distortion for clear dialogue and precise imaging.

With an integrated User Interface (UI), the soundbar sound settings automatically appear on the BRAVIA Quick Settings menu for easy control of features, like Sound Field and volume.

Soundbar Position

If you have a BRAVIA with a multi-position stand, you can change the position of the TV stand and fit the HT-S2000 in front of the TV for a clean, elegant look.

Environment in Mind

Sony’s home audio products are designed not only for excellent sound experiences but also with the environment in mind. Sony are committed to using less virgin plastic in Sony products and packaging. Uses specially developed recycled plastic1 in several parts of the product, to enable superb acoustic performance even as Sony reduce Sony ecological impact. Approximately 95%2 of the packaging is made from recycled paper and paper-based materials to minimise the use of virgin plastic.

The recycled plastics may not be used for parts depending on the time of production.
